The joint interview with married couple, Nick and Rose Tarabochia, covers their family life and early struggles to earn a living and raise a family during the Depression. Gig Harbor entrepreneurs, Dominic "Nick" Joseph Tarabochia (1907-1992) and Rose Josephine Ancich Tarabochia (1912-2008), were first generation Slavonian Americans who were a prominent part of the Puget Sound fishing industry. Nick was the son of a fisherman who emigrated from Susak island (part of present day Croatia) and settled in Brookfield, Washington.
